Dia Dead

 Day of the Dead

  • What is the difference between Nov. 1st and Nov. 2nd?
November 1st represent the deceased infant and children/ November 2nd represent those who had died as adults
  • Why do participants wear shells or noisemakers on the clothing or jewelry?
People like to show the people who died that they still care by bringing shells and noise makers this will wake up the dead and keep them close during the festive. Music is also very important for this special day and the people enjoy the music and dancing.
  • Why do some people paint only half of their face?
It represent death as part of human experience, every living thing will eventually die, and these people know that so they like to show respect by painting there faces.
(The half decorated face recognizes this.)
  • How can you represent some of the customs in your art, design or photography.
My art shows a grave sight because graves, and the darkness represents death and I added a skull with flowers meaning that even though people die every day doesn't mean they'll be forgotten  this day makes sure nobody is forgotten it a special way to connect with the people who died.
